LAS VEGAS SACRED MUSIC INSTITUTE

Welcome

WE ARE VERY EXCITED to return for our 2022-2023 season of sacred and early music in the Las Vegas valley. Our inaugural season audiences enjoyed two Bach cantatas, Buxtehude's remarkable Membra Jesus Nostri, a contemporary choral evensong, an All Saints' vespers service, and Lessons and Carols.

This season we spread out from our home base in Summerlin to other churches and venues across the city. We begin with two performances of Charpentier's resplendent Midnight Mass for the Nativity of Jesus. We then offer a performance pairing old and new with music from Michael Praetorius's Urania paired with the cinematic wonder of contemporary Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo's Sunrise Mass. Late March sees the performance of Faure's Requiem and selected works from other notable composers. We end the season with a program that explores music written by the diverse composers of the court of the Gonzaga family in Mantua, Italy.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you this season and hope that you will be inspired, educated, and uplifted by what's to come!
